COACH: Christopher Galley
GRADE:
Senior
COACH'S QUOTE
"Nick has been an outstanding captain this season. He has been a vocal leader and has lead by example on the practice field and in games. I’m glad to see that he has found his scoring touch.  After our struggles last season, Nick knew that the pressure of leading our offense would fall on his shoulders for his senior year.  He has really stepped embraced that role and is becoming one of the more potent offensive players in Class B."

ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING APRIL
Kyle is a true student athlete.  Not only does he excel on the tennis court, earning a starting singles spot on the team this year, but he also is a competitor in the classroom, as well.  Over two years at West Seneca West, Kyle has completed several advanced placement, honors, and enriched courses, earning a cumulative average of 94 percent.  Finally, Kyle shows up each and every practice ready and willing to learn new strategies on the court.  His teachers say he has the same willingness and determination in the classroom.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING APRIL
To fully appreciate what Jason does for our team goes beyond just his own accomplishments.  His primary and most of the time only event is the Pole Vault.  Because our coaching staff lacks an individual that competed the event, Jason has been demonstrating all of the drills for the event and has been deeply involved in the improvement of all our athletes in the vault.  The vault was cancelled at our first 3 meets of the season, which means he and the other vaulters showed up and didn't do any event.  Rather than leave the day long invites because he had no event, Jason, a team captain, stayed the duration and cheered on all of his teammates on the guys and girls teams.  He is constantly on the guys to do their best and always stresses the importance of everyone competing at the highest level they can.  In our home meet against Williamsville South on April 26th, Jason vaulted for the first time this year and hit a personal best mark of 11' provisionally qualifying for Sectionals.  He was also part of the winning 4 x 100m relay team that day.  Perhaps an even greater credit to him was that James Zimmerman and Eric Fray each broke their own personal best vaults and we swept the event.  Kristen Harrigan cleared a height for the first time ever.  She only started vaulting this season as a senior because we had no one on the girls team to do it.  Without Jason's willingness to help his teammates they would never have gotten to the point where they are at. The successes of these athletes and many others can be directly contributed to Jason's enthusiam for winning and for his desire to see other athletes perform well.
